Questions about crossdock
What is crossdock?
Crossdock is moving freight from an inbound trailer to an outbound trailer at a dock, with little or no storage in between. It is used to break full trailers into smaller deliveries or to combine several shipments into one trailer.
What is the difference between crossdock and storage?
In crossdock, freight changes trailers and continues. In storage, it stays in the warehouse and appears in your inventory until you order it out. At Fast Distribution you can use both.
Can crossdock be combined with customs clearance?
Yes. Freight transferred at our dock can be cleared through customs in the USA and Mexico before it crosses.
